10 easy steps of Gestational Surrogacy in India

Surrogacy is a highly accepted procedure by the infertile couples nowadays. Every person knows about surrogacy but there are very few people who are familiar with the types of Surrogacy. Gestational Surrogacy is one of the most popular types of Surrogacy.

What is Gestational Surrogacy?

In Gestational Surrogacy, in vitro fertilization is used to create embryos and transfer them to the surrogate's uterus. The process is done with the help of the surrogate that immediately releases the baby to the couple just after the birth of the child. Both partners are the biological parents of the child in gestational surrogacy.

1.       Suitable surrogate is chosen thoroughly screened for infectious diseases.
2.       Consents are signed by all parties and all the potential issues need to be carefully clarified
3.       To develop multiple eggs, the patient is stimulated for IVF with medications.
4.       The surrogate mother is placed on medications that suppress her own menstrual cycle and stimulate growth of a receptive uterine lining.
5.       An egg retrieval procedure is performed to remove eggs from her ovaries when the patient's follicles are mature.
6.       The eggs are fertilized in the laboratory with her partner's sperm.
7.       The embryos develop in the laboratory for 3 to 5 days.
8.       An embryo transfer procedure is done which places the embryos in the uterus of surrogate mother's where they will hopefully implant.
9.       The surrogate delivers the baby.

10.   At last, the new born baby goes home from the hospital with the genetic parents.
